How many weddings do you have a day?
Just one! Yours is the only wedding taking place and our team will do everything to make sure your day is absolutely perfect.
Are you licensed for civil ceremonies?
Yes, we have 3 rooms available that are licensed for civil ceremonies, so you can enjoy your special day with us from start to finish. We highly recommend the stunning wood panelled Baronial Hall!
Can guests stay over?
Yes, we have 97 bedrooms, including a stunning bridal suite, and offer discounted rates so your guests don’t have to worry about getting a taxi home. We also provide you with accommodation cards to hand out to your guests so they can get organised and book rooms.
Can I stay the night prior?
Absolutely! If the bridal suite is available, you are welcome to book this room overnight and get ready for your wedding. However, if we do have a wedding the night prior, we will provide you with a large main house bedroom. To enhance your evening, why not book a table in our Terrace Restaurant or dine in one of our beautiful main house dining rooms?
Do you allow external catering companies?
No, however you can be rest assured that our award-winning chefs will take good care of you, helping to design your perfect menu.
Can we try the food before the wedding day?
Of course! At Highgate House, food is really important to us and that’s why we offer a free taster evening so you can sample our cuisine. Our award-winning team of chefs will work with you to create the perfect menu tailored to your requirements.
Can you cater for dietary requirements?
Yes, our chefs can cater for all dietary requirements, so everyone will have a delicious and enjoyable meal.
Will we have a wedding planner to assist us and who will be our main contact on the day?
Yes, our experienced wedding planner will be there to guide you through every step of planning your special day! During your wedding, our in-house Master of Ceremonies will look after you and your guests so you can relax and enjoy yourself.
When are we able to deliver the wedding items and set up the room?
We usually advise delivering the wedding items the day before the wedding. We are more than happy to set up the place cards, favours and other decorations for you in the morning, or the night prior if available, and can work with other suppliers to coordinate the setup of any other decorations such as flowers and draping.
How much deposit or pre-payment is required?
A non-refundable deposit of £1,500 is required upon confirmation and a contract will be issued shortly afterwards. 50% of the balance is due 15 weeks prior to the wedding and full pre-payment 5 weeks before.
Are there both indoor and outdoor opportunities for photographs?
Yes, the venue is set within 26 acres of grounds, with plenty of beautiful backdrops for your wedding photos. There are also plenty of opportunities indoors – we all know how unpredictable the British weather can be!
Do you allow music?
Of course, what’s a wedding without dancing? We have a dance floor and a stage, and can recommend suppliers if you need help sourcing a DJ or a band.
Do you allow fireworks?
Unfortunately fireworks are not allowed as we are surrounded by farmland.
Are you a family friendly venue?
We understand how important it is to cater for the little ones within your party, so we offer a selection of children’s meals and soft drinks to make sure they can join in with the celebrations too. We also have giant lawn games which can keep the kids (and adults) entertained.
