Following the recent growth and success of the company, Periscopix wanted to encourage all staff to get to know each other better.

In June 2014, leading UK digital agency, Periscopix, held their annual weekend away at Sundial Group's Warwickshire venue, Woodside. In 2013, the event took place at Sundial's Surrey venue, Barnett Hill, however due to business growth, the company required a larger venue to accommodate everyone. Marketing Manager, Ashley Burgess tells us more:
Objectives of event
After growing by 68% in the last year, we felt it was important to encourage all staff members to talk to people they don't usually talk to on a day-to-day basis. As a company we're very family-friendly and we believe it's important to get to know employees other halves so we invited all partners to the weekend away.
Success on the day
We struggled to find a venue which would accommodate all 125 of us, but Woodside could and was still able to offer the country house experience. We were really happy with everything planned by Sundial Group over the weekend. We thought it was extremely well-organised, had a good pace to it and the events were challenging enough to get our 'geeks' thinking.
The event started with a treasure hunt across the venue's grounds, followed by swimming pool and field activities. After lunch, the afternoon's ‘Sports Day' event took place that included the following:
- Fastest man/woman in Periscopix
- Sack race
- Welly wangling
- Space hopper race
- Three-legged race
- Tug of war
- Wheel barrow race
- Orange down the line
As we have had a significant number of people join the company in the past few months, the weekend proved to be a great way of integrating staff quickly. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves and the team have commented that the relationships made have already helped at work.
